Children of the 80s, this one's for you.  In an attempt to keep its hot hand going, THQ is expected to announce a new game, set to arrive this fall.  That game is Voltron. 

If you've ever watched the old animated series, I don't have to tell you how exciting this is.  Voltron easily competed with some of the coolest cartoons of its era.  It was right up there with Transformers, He-Man, and Thundercats. 

While Voltron cycled through a few generations, its best known team was a crew of five dudes (well, four dudes and a lady) which operated huge mechanical fighting lions to obliterate evil.  To tackle tougher opponents, the lions could combine to create the mega robot, Voltron. 

With this welcome news comes plenty of skepticism.  The internet is already buzzing with nay-sayers, who believe, while cool in theory, a Voltron game could go terribly wrong.  I tend to share those concerns.  But hey, Transformers, War for Cybertron came out pretty darn good.  I have faith the Voltron magic can be captured in a game.  We'll have to wait and see.
